I LOVE crap like this. I just got a Mugen Pop Pop keychain because... I love crap like this.
I've had sooooo many Hidamari no Tami/Nohohon/Sunshine Buddies over the years. (I got my first when I was 16? Eeep! They've been around for a while... and I'm old! ;_;)
I tried to customize one once; they don't really like to be painted much, or they stop nodding. But touching up the eyes is okay, I've found; my original faded after a while.
My absolute favorite for sheer weirdness is one I have sitting on the potty. The box Engrish announces "Toilet Shaking Fun!"
